IF I HAD NEVER

If I had never failed at patience
I could not so much appreciate
The calm faithful outlook of someone
Who had waited longer than I.

If I had not lost confidence
I would never have known
The warm friendly clasp of hands
That reassured me.

If I had never waiverd
Somewhere along the way
I may never have
Seen the faces and heard the voices
Of those who have not lost faith
In me.

What better time than now
For a personal resurrection
"It isn't the end
but merely a new beginning."

  5. I guess even ends are beginnings and beginnings are ends.

I was serious there, but rereading it, I've come full circle and have confused myself. Your poem is much clearer though.
