The ship that never sailed
a harbor of regret
a dock of might-have-beens
a sea of discontent.
I'd rather set my sails
and journey with the tide
than be content to coast
and never to have tried.
A distant shore's awaiting
for those to take the ride
a shore of new beginnings
get on board while there's still time!
Okay, I've been thinking about taking a trip to Arizona. You're practically pushing me on that plane, aren't you, Margie?:)
ReplyDeleteThe only failure is not to try, we all learn from our experiences, even if they do not turn out the way we wished.
ReplyDeleteHey! count me in! I know how to steer!!
ReplyDeleteI needed to hear this today. Thanks for the inspiration!

This poem is so poignant. Regret is one of the worst things to have to live with. That "harbor of regret" is not where I want to dock!
ReplyDeleteWhats wrong Margie? This doesnt sound like the cheerful you. Hope everything is allright. Otherwise, this is a good poem. Take care
