The old trunk in the attic covered with dust
through the years.
She hesitated to look inside
as she knew her eyes would fill with tears.
Slowly she would open the cover and all the memories
of her little girl were there.
A photograph of her little darling with curls in her hair.
A tiny shoe, a teething ring, and a well worn teddy bear.
The memories were so vivid.
She felt as though she was there.
When her little girl was laid to rest
and an angel for her stone...
she knew that God would watch over her...
and take her to his throne.
At first, she could not comprehend
why this small life should end.
Oh, God, she cried ...it isn't fair
to leave me in such despair!
But God in his goodness and
mercy, gave her another darling in her place.
A little blue-eyed baby boy with the sweetest little face!
***UPDATE***
This poem is about my dear, sweet sister.
Trinity wraps her arms around Margie and whispers. "God bless you" She gives you a big hug.

Oh Margie every parents worst nightmare ~ there has to be a purpose to such heartache, but it often eludes me. With one hand G-d took and with another he gave, but as long as her memory lives, so will she.

ReplyDeleteHi Margie,
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. Life works in mysterious ways. I'm so glad she had a son to fill her heart.
God bless you and your family! Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Im so sorry to hear ur sis lost her lil girl. Thats so very heart-breaking!
ReplyDeleteBut like u said, God gave her a cute lil boy in return. Mebbe He was running short of angels up there so he had to take her back.

Margie, I came to visit today becAUSE i was thinking of you. In my gref for my nanna who passed away this 19th of November, I am seeking the right words to write in a poem in a blank card to my granddad. I cannpt believe you have just written this lovely poem here. It speaks such heart moving words.
ReplyDeleteI also need to find the right words to write to my auntie aswell. My nan was her mum, and my aunt was adopted out when she was born. My nan was 14 when she had my aunt. My aunt found us all when I was 16 years old..and found that both her parents went on to marry and have two more children, being my dad and my uncle.
I am sad for my aunt, as she only knew my nan and pop for 19 years. Although, she is a lovely spirit. She does reiki and shiatsu and other healings.
Feel free to email me from my profile email address if you have the time.
Carolyn.
