or berry
has stained up your breast
it is merry
oh! very
to see you so dressed ...
you bring us
and sing us
an old but dear song
of tune-time
and June-time
of love that is strong
you appear
and you cheer
with expressions of pleasure
have brought us
and wrought us
fresh hope set to measure
playfully
gayfully
you fill our life-cup
you greet us
and meet us
with " Cheery - cheer up!"
That brought a smile to my face Margie :)

ReplyDeleteThis poem is so great to read aloud, Margie...I've read it twice to my grandson and he's insisting I read it to him again. I think it will have to be printed out and given to my four year old grandson to put on his wall...he's in love with your words!
ReplyDeleteHe loves this..."of tune-time
and June-time"...he's gone off singing that phrase, heh! xx
What a gift the robin brings in soft songs...just as what a gift your words bring... :)
ReplyDeleteHugs back to you Margie! Loved your comment/entry! Do spread the word and good luck.
