she kept her heart
sealed in a tall
blue bottle ...
It
must have been alcohol
or something
because when she finally freed her heart
it was drunk
with joy
and made
her feel giddy
with laughter and love ...
freedom
ReplyDeletefinally freedom
will def leave you drunk with joy.
smiles.
smiles, Brian.
Deletedrunk with joy, that was I when I let my heart free (to love again)
I don't know why, but this poem makes me feel sad...
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
DeleteI can see why the poem made you sad.
It made me sad too as I was writing it.
The first part of the poem is about my heart that was broken by my first love
and the last part is about finding my 'one true love' and I set my heart free 'to love again'
x
How sweet and whimsical, now that her heart is free... Beautiful and thought provoking words Margie.

Margie this poem really speaks to me today! Thank you! Sometimes, we are so afraid of love, we do bottle ourselves up! We need to break it and let love in ;o) Big Hugs ;o)
ReplyDeleteStacy,
DeleteYou are so welcome.
I am happy to know my poem spoke to you.
It's so true about us sometimes bottling ourselves up and being not open to love coming to us.
I have to admit that was me (but only for a short time)
I was blessed to find 'my true love'
Life is so good to me.
Big Hugs back to you, dear girl ...
I love this, Margie. What a great ending!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Daisy.
DeleteI love that you love my poem
Smiles ...
Hi Margie! How you made me smile with the line about what was in the bottle. Sometimes it does seem like forever to be cooped up away from life. But you were able to burst forth and love again. What a blessing!
