All rivers run to the sea
we cannot stop them anymore than we can stop the stream of life
and call back some incident to look at it again.
It is all
water under the bridge
gone on down to join
a million, trillion other incidents
until it loses its identity
and we are left with
other times
and other persons.
We learn
that it's no use
to chase what has happened
but we must learn
to love and work
with what we
have at hand.
That is where
we find
the love of life
the peace and the fulfillment!

ReplyDeleteVery nice :)
ReplyDeleteThe title reminds me of a verse in Urdu Poetry (Urdu is my national Language)... I'll try to translate it. It reads:
"Who says when death arrives; I'll die?
I am a river- I'll merge with the Sea"
:)
Almost like, "All roads lead to Rome" sort of way. Loved this...and no, you can't chase what has happened...it's all in the past.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
Hi Margie,
ReplyDeleteHope you had a refreshing run!
Beautiful poem as always. It's important not to dwell on the past but to move on and learn from those experiences.

ReplyDeletewe all make mitakes
ReplyDeletebut have no regrets

ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling okay today and blogger is behaving :-)
Love is like a river, always changing,
but always finding you again somewhere
down the road.
Love is like a river. Even though sometimes you need to get over it, sometimes you need to get into it.
Love, like a river, will cut a new path
whenever it meets an obstacle.
