Do you ever have regrets about
not telling someone how important
they are to you?
or were to you?
Maybe a friend?
or a special love?
Probably many people
can relate to this poem.
THINKING OF YOU
How long has it been
since I stepped off
the treadmill
long enough
to really say
how much
I think of you.
How often my
thoughts
turn to where
you are
and what
you are doing
and what
your thoughts
are
at this particular moment.
One would think
that when
something
means all to us
we would have
more time
to give.
But we tend so
to save the best
for last
and
so it goes.
Not enough time left
to do what
we really
want to do.
And that is
to share
your lightest mood
or your
deepest thoughts
to convey
somehow
that someone
really cares
and thinks
of you often.
Another BEAUTY. You're on a roll. This is Hallmark material. Really. Very nice.

I like this, perhaps you could allow me to put you as a link on my blog...but which is you, by the way!
ReplyDeletevery sweet and serene. I like your style. I agree, no point in telling the right thing when not told at the right time. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIt would be so nice if we could all remember to say these words to the people we care about, to let them know we ARE thinking about them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful

The lion's share of emotions are often not given to those nearest and dearest to us. We first fight back the intensity of self expression, hoping against time and that innate longing that the one we desire will read our minds and are bitterly disillusioned when the message is garbled up in the process of clarvoyance.
ReplyDeletei guess we all nees a reminder like this every now and then.
ReplyDeletethanks for wrapping it in beautiful words!
I agree with Don. He said it well.
ReplyDeleteYour verses are always so personal, and yet nearly everyone can relate them to their own life. That's a gift darlin.
ReplyDeleteI luv this crowd, everybody is so pleasant.
ReplyDeleteLovely words.
I am always keenly aware that I should say my I Love Youzzz at every possible opportunity because you never know when your time is .........
"We tend to save the best for last.." This I agree.
ReplyDeleteWe tend to give more to strangers because they are interesting in passing. They are interesting, go away and we may or may not see them again.
Those who are closest to us, the familar, "I love you" becomes a period. "Don't forget milk, I love you." Fish kiss and move on to the next thought.
I am looking for the middle ground. To be able to say "I love you" everyday with absolute conviction and never being confused with a period.
