I HAVE A HOLD ON THE WORLD

The world doesn't spin
in perfect order.
There are times
it tries to shake me off
but I hang on
with all my might

and afterwards declare
insane with pride...

"I made it, one more time
God bless my soul

and I bless thee!"

  4. I've been having that type of feeling since yesterday and feel like the world's trying to shake me off. I'm trying to hold on, but sometimes it's just so hard. I LOVE the "insane with pride" part. Why not, right? :)

  9. Lovely! Without the existence of the individual "I", the earth loses its charm.

"Insane with pride" was awesome, but the last two lines were even more amazing.

  10. We are all jumping on and off the merry-go-round of life. This is how I understand your poem to be. The journey is myriad of twists and turns. Simplicity of words can become quite profound. Once again beautiful!

  15. Sometimes I don't have the energy to hang on anymore, so I give up. Funny thing happens then... I not only still wake up on Earth, but I feel a little lighter too.

I'm glad you made it through.

Thank you for your beauty and strength.
