The world doesn't spin in perfect order. There are times it tries to shake me off but I hang on with all my might and afterwards declare insane with pride... "I made it, one more time God bless my soul and I bless thee!"
We are fleas, and the world is trying to shake us off. I know that's not exactly what you meant, but my mind doesn't work in normal ways. Love it Margie!!! Hang on don't get shook off!!
I've been having that type of feeling since yesterday and feel like the world's trying to shake me off. I'm trying to hold on, but sometimes it's just so hard. I LOVE the "insane with pride" part. Why not, right? :)
We are all jumping on and off the merry-go-round of life. This is how I understand your poem to be. The journey is myriad of twists and turns. Simplicity of words can become quite profound. Once again beautiful!
Sometimes I don't have the energy to hang on anymore, so I give up. Funny thing happens then... I not only still wake up on Earth, but I feel a little lighter too.
margie, it is a great poem! i guess i wouldn't recognise it as a typical "margie poem" upon first reading, but it does carry your signature. and i mean that in the best sense :) hope this makes things a little clearer...
afterwards declare
ReplyDeleteinsane with pride...
Interesting idiom!
Do you feel earthquakes in Colorado? Perhaps that isn't what this in necessarily what this is about but it fits in a funny way.
