TO ONE FAR AWAY

Were you happy?
Did you have
a happy day?
Did you remember
to touch its hours
expectanly?
Were your fingers firm as you reached forth
to pluck each harp-string moment
that the melody of this day
might please you?

Did you have
a happy day?
Were there sounds of laughter?
Gasps of wonder? Sighs of peace?
And now that it is gone
do you remember
pleasantly
the cadence of the march of time
into eternity?
Were you happy?
Did you have
a happy day?

Yes, dear Margie, indeed our life, as an orchestration, conducted, moved, by our perceptions, and felt and heard within the openness of our soul. I feel the concordance of our way. Blessings.

  8. An interesting question . . . happy comes and goes. But I guess that is the point, balance and change.

I once read that if there were no death, there would be no religion.

Don't know about that. Seems like we would still need a guiding light to keep from total chaos.

  10. Margie...

beautiful words to reflect on... it makes me think of happiness as a perspective... what could i see today that made me feel happy... i wonder how many of us really think much about that... and how all you really need do is turn your attention in that direction and you can easily think of all the things that brought a smile...

it is so wonderful to see you back again...

  15. Hi Keshi
If my poem might remind you to be HAPPY, no matter what, then that makes me HAPPY too!
I do believe there are always moments of happiness in our days, even when we mighte not be so happy.
We just have to look around us, it might just be a little thing, like the smile of a loved one.

Thank you, Keshi for your kind words!
I always appreciate them very much!

  17. Hello Jon
Thanks very much & so glad you answered with, "YES!!!"
    That made me smile!
It's so good to be "happy!"
I find it's the little things in life that make me the most happy, it might just be having my wonderful dog Jake, sitting next to me and I am petting him.
That is a small thing but it makes me truly happy!

Glad to reconnect with you on Facebook....I wondered what happened.
    Take care, my friend!

  20. Hi Goatman
    *Happy comes and happy goes*
Yes, that is so true but it's lovely when the happiness comes more than it goes, don't you agree?

Hmmmmm, I wonder about that, if there were no death, there would be no religion.
Guiding lights, I think are very good to have in one's life!

    Hope you are recovering.
    Take care!

It's always a pleasure to visit you!
I'm doing ok, still having problems with my knee, but it could always be worse.
I finished with PT and will have to make a decision on surgery.
    Not sure about that.

    Take care, Eric!
