Love is such an airy thing a fairy bubble . . . a gossamer wing . . . to be handled . . . with the lightest touch . . . too heavy a hand . . . and it loses its gleam . . . as a butterfly wing . . . loses its sheen . . . when the down rubs off.
My sentiments dear Margie - taking a few days "off" as I atttempt to express with the brush what you so succintly put into words...the delicacy of love...
Love is such a delicate thing Frail fabric of a butterfly’s wing Yet seen I have Dragged thru mud Treated real bad Used as a hammer Used as a tool Made a genius Look like a fool I've seen it get stepped on I've seen it all but gone But at the end of the day It is still there I must say Resilient as anything I've seen Residing everywhere I've been So though it may break And it may shatter It is always there And that's what really matters
I love coming here and being reminded of such things Thank you.
"...too heavy a hand . . . and it loses its gleam . . ."
This is so true! Once love gets too strong, it loses its appeal in some way. They say that if you really love someone or something, to let it go; let it be free. To have too much control is the same as smothering someone...or something.
woow Margie, wonderful and beautiful as always..i had a smile on my face when i came to the end of the poem..and as usual, am off to sleep, to dream!! Goodnight :) :) Take care!!
Angeldust, thanks for your visit! I hope your few days off will allow you to paint that delicacy of love! Your kind words are most appreciated! It was very nice to talk with you..enjoyed it very much! Hope the sunshine makes an appearance their soon. Even though we are having a severe winter, we have lots of sunshine here.
Shammu, your kind words mean a lot! Thank you! I am so glad I was able to put a smile on your face before you went off to dreamland...hope you have beautiful dreams! Take care!

on the ice" today.

Your words are always so thought-provoking. So simple and yet so profound in their beauty.

It can be easily bruised and tarnished if we're not careful.
