Deep Memories ~

Tonight I opened a treasured book
filled with memories of bygone days
and I strayed into that happy past
remembering your 'little boy ways'
A valentine that you made for me
holds a place on a page apart
Ah, little boy, son of yesterday
your valentine lives in my heart ...

You are now living in grown-up land
yet, tonight, from the mists of time
you are back once more, beloved son ...
here with me
through your valentine ...

----------------------------------------------------
My son is now 25 years of age
Yesterday, I was looking through some of the beautiful
keepsakes he has given me over the years
I came across a hand-made valentine
that I treasure greatly ...

This photo of us was taken in 2011
on a trip to Mexico ...

  2. Bom dia, Margie !
Memorias felizes que ficam para sempre, seu filho é um atleta, eram pequenos e sem darmos por isso, ficam homens de repente.
Desejo-lhe as maiores felicidade para o seu filho e para si.

I have some of those, too.

Many thanks for the kind words.
      Do appreciate them.
Our kids grow up way too fast.
Rose, my granddaughter, is 'on her way' and I just want to hold back time and keep her little but can't do that so I just enjoy and treasure my days with her.
By the way, Rose and my son are great pals :)

  7. Such beautiful thoughts and remembrances, Margie. Our children are Fortysomethings (wait, that can't be right!), and we all live in the same city, so we can get together often.

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

  8. Hi Margie! Either you are very short, or he is very tall...both maybe?? Your son is just adorable, what a beautiful photo. Thank you for sharing this happy time with us. I have kept many of the cards and artwork from my children over the years. I never grow tired of it.

It's like a snapshot in time. So fun!

  13. Children grow so quickly and sometimes we let the memories fade. It is good that you were able to hold on to the positive. Having 5 sons , I so miss the years when mom was their everything. But like you, I am now having a chance to enjoy grandchildren. The picture of you and your son is lovely...but who would expect less , you have such a beautiful heart.
