MOMENT MELANCHOLY

Sometimes the heart is too heavy
to give voice to a song ...
the harp strings of poetry
having lost all their tautness
cannot sound the music
for which the soul hungers
and fingers have become too stiffened
with sadness
to pluck with carefree abandon
a joy-filled melody.

But the voice of faith whispers
were there no darkness
there would be no rejoicing
at the coming of light.

  1. That is a very sad poem Margie and the heart weighs heavy. Listen to the voice of faith my friend. :)

  4. No matter how heavy the heart feels, as far as the voice of faith is there, it will be well.

Sadness and joy are intertwined. We do need both of these emotions to appreciate the good things in our lives.
