INSPIRATION

A little bird poured out his soul in song
Not knowing its melody sweet and strong ...
Reached a child who was ill, making him smile ...
Or that an old man who listened awhile ...
Was cheered, resolving to fight life anew ...
Just as the bird lifted his wings and flew ...
He perched on a bough some distance away ...
So unaware of hope he gave that day ...
God's messengers of song play a big part ...
In aiding young and old to take new heart.

The bird is so beautiful. Love the colors! Birds do bring happiness to us. I do love to hear those birds. I always wonder what are they talking about?

  2. HI MARGIE-

Beautiful picture with such vibrant colors. Love it. And oh yes, the bird song comforts me - inspires me - reminds me of simple blessings and that regardless of wars on distant shores or terror in big cities in a moment I can be comforted and know that I am also surrounded by beauty and freedom.

    Love and appreciation

  5. This is so beautiful. :) In one of my favorite books, Walk Two Moons (I read it to my students every year), the main character has a "singing tree". It's filled with birds who sing and bring her comfort in the saddest moment of her young life. I believe that God does send those little messages to us when we need them. :)

  12. Such an inspiration, indeed.
I love the song of a bird in the morning it could make anyone smile and feel grateful, no matter the circumstances... but of course you have to listen to it, not only hear it...
    Lovely Margie! :)

My Yesterday's interpretation say a lot of how good a poem can be if it can lead to it. So you must be a real poet!
