RICHES

Riches consist
not in the extent of our possessions
but in the ability
to appreciate.

How great our blessings
and
how small our appreciation.

The richest people
in the world
are those who
can see the beauty
in the changing of
the seasons
and
the beauty
in the faces
and hearts
of those
whom they love.

They can see
past the doors of prejudice
and hate
and despair.

They are rich
because they can
breathe deeply
the fragrance of flowers
but also
peace.

They can feel
the cool
and the heat
and the
tender touch
of a hand....
but also
the touch
of souls.

For these blessed...
food
both
spiritual
and
material
is fully appreciated
and
enjoyed.

Their hearing
is tuned
to the sounds
and songs of peace
and
never
to cynicism
or hate.

The ultimate is love
for to love truly
and be truly loved
is to be truly rich!

  1. To lick a bar of icecream, while walking in the rain..

To play Hide&Seek when u are 23 yrs 'young' and fight over who said "SAT" first..

To climb trees to steal raw manga from ur neighbours garden..

To doze off in your grandmother's laps listening to ridiculous stories..

To cherish the small things in life.. the things that truly matters..

  20. Truth. We can't carry the material things with us beyond earth, but we carry wishes, love and our good deeds

  21. It is the only true richness
    all else is fleeting

  22. We find it easy to criticise people but appreciation is a noble deed, which is found wanting. We fail to perceive the beauty in our lives and instead worry about our sad times. We have forgotten the essence of life.

  23. Margie so true.love this poem too.he richest people
    in the world
    are those who
    can see the beauty
    in the changing of
    the seasons
    and
    the beauty
    in the faces
    and hearts
    of those
    whom they love

I certainly believe this because to me this is richness.
